Joker in the stained glass

In the heart of the town stood an old church, a place woven with many legends, especially renowned for its stained glass. However, one of these stained glasses was peculiar and instilled fear in the locals.

The glass depicted a clown with green hair and a face painted white. His mouth appeared torn at the ends, painted vividly with red lipstick, and he held a sharp knife in one hand. Near the edge of the glass, there was a design that resembled dynamite sticks.

Locals couldn't quite believe that this stained glass was merely decorative. According to local lore, the clown was once a real person involved in numerous mysterious incidents within the church.

One night, a fire broke out in the town. Though it was quickly extinguished, those who later visited the church witnessed an unbelievable sight: the clown from the stained glass had vanished, replaced by clear glass.

Following that night, a series of strange incidents plagued the town. The townsfolk whispered amongst themselves, fearing the legendary clown had manifested into reality.

A few days later, there was an explosion caused by dynamite. Fortunately, there were no casualties. However, at the site of the explosion lay strands of green hair and a piece of white cloth with lipstick marks resembling the torn mouth.

The locals rushed to the church once more, only to find the stained glass clown had returned, looking more lifelike and terrifying than ever before.

Taking this as a cautionary tale, they realized they could never destroy that glass. From then on, the church was sealed off, and the clown's stained glass was covered with curtains so it couldn't be seen from the outside.

Yet, to this day, whenever the townspeople hear mysterious laughter in the dead of night, they fear the stained glass clown might be on the move once more.
